Ukiah

We have been fortunate enough to go to Ukiah to see my grandparents for the past three years during spring break. We had a wonderful time visiting family, and it was great for Ave to spend time with them and for them to meet Graysen. We had lots of good food, good laughs, and great memories!

Easter 2010

Easter this year was great because we were able to spend it with LOTS of family. Avery was very into all the "easter activites", which was super cute. Although, we had a hard time fitting in an egg hunt because of so much rain. But eventually we caught a break and Daddy and Papa hid the eggs and Ave got to find all of them by herself.

Didn't she do well?

She found them all! Hopefully...

Found one!

Graysen is FiVe MoNtHs!

Yes, five months already! Growing and getting more and more personality by the day. He is rolling from front to back now but is still not very interested in sitting up, as he is too much of a busy body. He finds it very frustrating when we sit him up because he can't kick and play. And, his bottom two teeth have finally made their grand entrance!

He's almost too big for her too hold anymore!

As you can see, it is getting much more difficult to get a good picture of him with the blocks. Like any normal baby he is much more interested in playing with them than smiling for a good picture!

Rain, Rain...Here To Stay

On our trip up North to visit family, we were really looking forward to beautiful weather and being able to be outside with the kids...we were SO wrong. The day we got there the rain started and lasted through Monday night until we left on Tuesday morning, which turned out to be beautiful all day. Go figure!? It turned out to be a wonderful time, none the less. The rain did not hinder us from letting Ave go outside, good thing we remembered her rain boots!

Big Girl Bike

For Ave's birthday we decided it was time for her to have a real bike. She has been riding a tricycle and was never quite interested in bikes, until now. Her only problem is her super long legs so we had to get her a larger than your typical "three year old bike". I thought she would need some practice...WRONG! She hoped right on and off she went! We took it with us when we went up North to see my grandparents, which was great because she could get out and burn some energy in between the crazy rain showers.

Caity's Visit

While Ben was away to Cocoa Beach for work, my oldest, best friend came to stay with me. Cait and I have been friends since Kindergarten and I was so excited when she decided to come up this week! We had such a great time catching up and laughing about the new and the old. We always pick up right where we left off, I am so blessed to have such a good friend. Avery really enjoyed her and I couldn't believe how Graysen took to her right away. For the most part we stayed around and played with Avery and Gray but on Tuesday we headed down to Santa Barbara. We took Ave on the carousel, enjoyed the beautiful beach and had lunch on State Street. We really missed Ben but we had a great time with Caity!

Avery is 3!

My sweet, sweet little girl has turned three years old and I'm not sure how it happened? She is turning into such a wonderful person with an amazing personality. She is so smart, so funny and everyday we are so blessed by her!

We spent her birthday at Avila Beach, which is her favorite place to be. We had lunch at a great restaurant on the beach and enjoyed some great family time.

Bonfire at Grover Beach

This weekend our church hosted the Ugandan Orphans Choir so they got together a bonfire at Grover Beach to show the kids what the Central Coast is all about. We roasted hot dogs and had smores, which by the way, was a super sticky mess covered in sand, UGH! The kids were amazing and we all enjoyed meeting them.

Soooo Tired...

Gray's Four Month Update

I took Graysen to his four month check-up yesterday and wow, has he grown! He is 16 lbs 1.6 oz, 62 % for weight, he is 26.2 inches, 81% for height and head is 17 inches, 65%. We gave him peas for the first time yesterday and he seemed to enjoy that. He is also starting to roll from his back to his tummy and he is working on sitting up alone!

These Are The Moments

It has happened.

Poor Graysen has been exposed to the world of "Avery", where everything is pink, pretty and filled with shoes and where every meal is a tea party. It is a scary place for a four month old little boy. But there will come a day, probably sooner than I would like to think, but the day will come where he will have a say in what game is played and there will be much dispute over who has what and I want to play this and you want to do that! But for now, I was SO enjoying the moment of them playing "Princess Tea Party Picnic" together.

Graysen is FoUr MoNtHs!

He is getting so big, she has a hard time holding him now!
Graysen has learned so much in the past month. He has quickly discovered how to use his hands to his benefit, as he is putting anything he can reach into his mouth, including his sister's hair, which she doesn't like much! His first roll-over was quite some time ago but now it is ALL the time. I can't get him to stay on his belly for even a second, as he just flips right over! He is laughing and smiling ALL the time and he thinks his sis is the funniest thing in the world. And of course, we have been slowly introducing cereal into his diet. Next week is his check-up appointment so we will get to see how much he has grown.

Here he is in rolling action. Needless to say, it was quite difficult to get him to stay on his tummy for a quick picture!

Best Invention EVER!

After a lot of searching, we finally broke down and got Graysen a jumperoo. I just have to say this has got to be the greatest toy invention of all time, it keeps him busy and contained while I am hands-free. Only one problem with this... when we first set it up and put him in it, let just say he was much less than thrilled! The only time he was okay with it was when Avery was sitting playing with him, but we continued to try until he realized what a cool thing this could be for him. He quickly discovered the art of jumping and is now in LOVE with it!

First Bites!

Graysen had his first taste of rice cereal on Sunday night! He actually did extremely well, and seemed to enjoy the idea of eating quite well. That first bite is such a shocker for babies considering this is a whole new ball game, but it is very exciting for Mommy as we have entered a new phase! I think Ave was just as excited, as she got to try giving him a few bites all by herself.
