Monterey is seriously one of the coolest places I've visited. It has charm, class, it's beautiful and even with that dreary, foggy weather all the time, the people seem surprisingly happy and nice. So, as I mentioned, for Ben's 30th, *ahem*, birthday we headed north to beautiful Monterey. The first day we hit up Gilroy's Garlic Festival, an "interesting" experience, and then we hit up the Denace the Menace Park, it was AWESOME!!

Seriously considering installing one of these in our living room.
Priceless!

...And what would a trip to the park be without a race down the slides?!
I did say Monterey was classy, right?
If your wondering, yes, I survived. Barely.
On our second day, we had made plans to visit the aquarium. So this is where the surprise comes in..
In March, we met two of the most awesome people ever, Matt & Rachelle, on our cruise to Mexico. We have all been wanting to get together, but them being in Modesto and us, well, here it just hasn't been possible. But, Monterey is almost halfway for both of us. So, Ben (super secretly) and them worked it out and they met up with us at the aquarium and were able to squeeze in lunch and a walk around the pier before we had to head home. I am so thankful for the amazing people God has put in our lives, and it was a lot for them to drive two and a half hours just to come see us, we were so blessed!
It was a bonus that the aquarium was amazing. The kids loved it! And they also really liked meeting Matt & Rachelle.

Just two kids in a clam!

A beautiful, HUGE sea turtle.

Avery loved the bear. It was all we could do to get Graysen to sit by it for a picture.
Finally, thanks to Rachelle, for a great picture of all of us...in the same location, at the same time, looking at the same camera, did I mention ALL OF US?
A great time with two of the coolest people ever!
